Jared's found a fabulous new hobby-- making paracord bracelets (bracelets knotted from parachute cord). He first saw one of these bracelets on a buddy from work who had bought it at a local farmers market for $10. Jared liked it, but was sure he could make the same thing for much less. So, he set to looking, found instructions and materials, and just in the last week has made the excellent bracelets shown below.

He's also made one for each of our kiddos and a couple for friends. He's learned 4 different patterns and is looking to try out making a paracord belt next. They are pretty cool just to have as an accessory, but knowing that you have 8-10 feet of sturdy parachute cord at your disposal to use whenever you find yourself needing to rescue someone who's fallen down a well or some such, well, that's just priceless peace of mind :). Right down Jared's alley. I think they are pretty cool too, and love it that he is so excited about them.
My kids think that they are AWESOME! Um.... Can I still take you up on that offer to have Jared teach us this new hobby? And where can you buy the stuff? I would love to buy it and then have you guys teach us. :D Just sayin
ReplyDeleteJared. is. awesome.
ReplyDeleteI will never buy a bracelet again with a load bearing weight of under 550 lbs. That would be a rip off.
